Must-Have Tool Kit for Adult Children
I know that most of the boys are very curious about seeing ‘what’s inside that box‘ and this is probably one of the trails of the childhood that will never go away.

Zoozen ToolkitI think the console lovers understand what I’m talking about because whenever you get yourself a new game console, you test-drive it, play some cool games, but then comes the fun part! You want to have a look inside that gadget!

This is where you very often say “Oh NO!”, because the screws holding the gadget together always have a strange shape so that no one can get in.

However the is a solution for all you curious ones and let-me-see-what’s-inside-that-box guys. The Zoozen Pro Tool Access kit, which allows you to forget about this problem. This tool kit will allow you to open any gadget.

If you’re thinking about console modding the Zoozen tool kit is the perfect thing for you, as with its help you can get into Xbox, Xbox 360 and their controllers, into Wii, GBA, DS, DS Lie, GameCube, Nintenti and Gamecube cart… wow there’s many, but it’s still not all… PS3, PS2, the portable PS and I don’t think I’m familiar with the rest.

So if you there was a thought in you dark, striving-for-knowledge mind to open such consoles, your dreams might be closer to reality from now on. The fun part about all this is that this tool kit costs just about $ 15 - its nothing when you really want to get inside a Sony Playstation!

Zoozen Pro Tool Access kitYou will also find a lot of application for the Zoozen Pro Tool Access kit anywhere else in the house. From my experience, I could tell you that there are dozens of gadgets in my house, which have this weird screw form, and it’s not that easy using a screwdriver to get them out of there.

Most recent example from my ultra boring life was to see what’s inside a mobile phone charge. If seen it dozens of times, but I wanted to look inside this one. I’m just a kid, you know! But this triangle screw became so annoying after a two hours’ siege, so I just broke the think into two halves. And you know what, I didn’t get the true satisfaction of nicely opening the device, taking the screws out, putting them aside… Well, it’s not what I needed.

If you have already made an order, then you can start gathering some cool stuff to modify your console, as it needs no longer be this dull!

So I guess the Zoozen tool kit will help all us, adult children, out. I’m praying for it!

Merging Speed and Performance into One Gadget - ASUS Lamborghini VX2

Merging Speed and Performance into One Gadget - ASUS Lamborghini VX2
The second coming of the ASUS Lamborghini - half a sport car, half a laptop - almost happened, though it still might last a bit.

It’s been almost a year since first pieces of information about the first Lamborghini - the VX1 - reached us. If you look now at it and at the relation between the price and the number of positive feedbacks about this gadgets, you understand that people have realized its true value. Since the VX1 made it on the marker there have been sites posting reviews, comments and simple post about this gadget. This way the Lamborghini series from ASUS became extremely popular.

The popularity of the laptop might be explained not only by the brand name ASUS, but by the name of the series - Lamborghini. I mean there’s hardly a guy who wouldn’t, at least once, dream of driving a Lamborghini - the sportiest of all the sports cars. But ASUS made it possible to hold this wild beast in your hands, having it on your knees and pushing its keys.

So anyway, this popularity gave the creators of VX1 the idea that there should be another model in the Lamborghini series. It’s a series, after all, and a series must have at least two models in its range. So they have come up with the ASUS Lamborghini VX2.

The strategy of giving us information on this gadget was the same as in the case of VX1: it was like waving a nice, juicy bone in front of a dog’s nose. In other words: they gave us almost nothing.

Many of the gadget geeks were really disappointed with the history repeating (and I fully support them in this), but I guess it’s better than absolutely nothing. Now we have at least something to speculate on. I’ll be thinking how it’ll be, how fast, what will be it’s ‘interior’ and so on. You know, because at this point we know almost nothing about it… not more than there will be two external variants of the VX2: a traditional yellow a black, both with the Lamborghini logo, of course.

The only thing known about the interior is the CPU, which will be an Intel Centrino Duo. However, as much as I love Intel, I couldn’t say that it would match half of the Lamborghini powers. But it is absolutely the best candidate for the role of second fastest gadget!

After the launch of Vista all over the world, they stuff it everywhere; even the Lamborghini VX2 will have it onboard (why spoil such a gadget?)

Well, I guess we’ll catch up more on this topic later in this year, and I guess ASUS should organize a full time presentation this April at CeBITT 2007. And be sure to see me there, VX2, my boy!

Sexy Star Wars stormtrooper boots
Come-fuck-me boots for the fashion-conscious Imperial set, as designed by Rupert Sanderson for the Fashion Fringe Shoe competition. A casual Google image search reveals I’m not the only one who has nuzzled a passionate fantasy of PVC Death Star fumblings with a sexy female stormtrooper in both my brain and nethers ever since my pre-pubertal sexuality was awakened while watching the The Empire Strikes Back… although, in truth, the subsequent revelation that every stormtrooper was a clone of Jango Fett has put the dampers on that fantasy somewhat. CrOOzing the BoozeMobile
I think everyone’s had such days, when you just can’t do anything about it and you just don’t want to do ANYTHING!!! You’d sit back on your couch, you’d just sip on your favorite chilling drink and relax, don’t having to rush at every call you hear.

On the other hand, just sitting on the couch won’t do the thing’ for example I can’t sit like this longer than 10 minutes. I always need something to occupy my hands with, something like… no not that. I meant something like the Booze Cruze Remote Control Car.

This little RC car is probably the perfect thing for the drivers born with a steering wheel in their hands. I mean when you have a dilemma and you can’t decide whether you should drink some beers or drive a car, you can do both… of course only virtually, in a way.

On the other hand you can make your car ‘fetch’ your drinks from the kitchen. All you need for this is a Booze Cruze and a wife (girlfriend) in the kitchen to prepare the drinks and to place them on the little trunk (Note: the wife or the girlfriend is subject to be substituted by any other human being, except the driver of the Boozer Cruzer).
When I first got my hands on the remote control of this gadget I was so obsessed by it that had the car always somewhere near me. I mean, it was like a pet, a toy and a best friend (no one would actually bring you so many drinks for free, they all would need a drink too, and the RC car need a battery).

If you ask me what you can do with the gadget, I’d say that just about EVERYTHING. The main ingredient for this is the lazyness. I mean, if you’re something like “I wanna do something” the Booze Crooze is nothing for you.

So now back to the “just about everything” part. Think of it, you can race against your buddy (if he is one of the lucky possessors of this gadget), you can fetch drinks, you can just have fun with it. Oh yeah, there’s one more thing to mention: the set is supplied with four additional traffic cones - a great help in your driving lessons, if you still didn’t pass the exam because of drinking.

But seriously speaking, the Booze Cruze RC Car is actually a rather useless gadget. If you get addicted to it, like I did, you’ll have wasted a great deal of time (this was my common sense speaking - not me). However if you have some 40 bucks in your pocket (this is me again), you should have something like this gadget in your household… just in case: you’ll surely have some time to spend driving while drunk. The best thing about it is that you won’t get fined by the police for DUI. Oh, another thing: the set includes two cones for practicing your technique of driving a car with a glass full of something on the roof.

But beware! If you get addicted to this gadget, which is very possible, you’ll have a lot of explanations to do! Trust me!

Report: Intel says no to Vista

Report: Intel says no to Vista
Intel’s decided to stick with Windows XP, skipping Vista until the next edition of Windows comes steaming out of Ballmer’s pores. The Inquirer’s Charlie Demerjian sums up the issue: “When a company as tech savvy as Intel, with full source code access and having written several large chunks of the OS, says get stuffed, you know you have a problem. Well, everyone knows MS has a problem, but it is nice to see it codified in such a black and white way though. Reassuring, like a warm cup of tea, or a public kick to the corporate crown jewels. His conclusion: “Intel is not going to use Vista on its corporate machines… ever.” Intel won’t touch Vista [Inquirer]…

Hackenbroich Architekten’s Sitscape Seating System

Hackenbroich Architekten’s Sitscape Seating System

This one seams to be a “Star Wreck” sofa! (Forgive me my imagination). This is so called Sitscape is a system for a lounge-landscape. It features 1 metre wide and has an infinite length.

The construction is quite simple using the principle of vertical sections connected by metal elements. This makes it possible to basically engineer the configuration of shapes within this system.

Funny or not but the Sitscape will be sold by “metre”! Thus the costumers will have the choice of various compositions which will be proposed by designer or can be constructed by the customer himself.

The soft furnishings are also made of multiple cushions connected to cover the solicited zones of the Sitscape. This make it possible to form an original upholstery too.

The Sitscape prototype you see on photos is 6 metres long. It was created on specific order and is based on six basic positions. As you can see the composition can have smooth forms along with more hard-edged shapes.

The construction of the Sitscape gives the possibility to adjust certain areas in order to obtain positions of maximum relaxation and comfort. These are called <i>transitional areas, which might offer new and unexpected possibilities. You are free to experiment!

Let’s talk about materials. Sections – the main structural elements, are digitally cut out of laminated wood or composite material. The connecting metal elements are made of aluminium. They form spacers between the sections and steel thread rods that go through the sections. The rods are secured by wingnuts giving perfect structural stability. The most visible elements take the main vertical loads while the hidden metal elements give the support for the horizontal and torsion forces.

Well, the construction of Hackenbroich Architekten’s Sitscape is as much simple as complex. “True German quality” – as many would have said.

As for me the construction as well as design reminds me of blinds! And frankly saying, though it looks very interesting and innovative, it also seams to me not too comforting.

Logitech Finally Gives In, Launches Mac-Only Webcam

After years of ignoring the existence of Apple’s Mac OS X, Logitech has finally given in to the demand. Assuming there is a demand there. Sure, modern Mac’s come with embedded webcams built right into the system, but you have to figure there are plenty of people who want a more feature rich alternative than the good old Photo Booth.

So great, Logitech has announced their new QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac systems. The first Logitech cam which works with the OS. But what can this new camera provide that our Mac’s don’t already offer us? Let’s take a look at the features and specs.

The QuickCam Vision Pro will offer a 2.0-megapixel sensor with a Carl Zeiss lens and is compatible with both iChat and Skype for video conferencing. Video can be recorded at up to 30 fps, though only at VGA-quality with this first Mac device. We hope to see some improvements with the quality format in the future though. Well, at least if this camera sells well we should see some improvements.

Logitech plans to release the QuickCam Vision Pro for the public in July for £69.99 ($130) so it’s a little on the pricey side for what it offers. The good news is that you’re sure to get at least some sort of improved quality compared to the on-board Mac webcams.

Web 2.Oh Yeah!

Web 2.Oh Yeah!

I’m as guilty as everyone else. I’ve tasted the artificial fruit flavor of the Web 2.0 Kool-Aid and I loved it. I’ve evangelized every new service and site into oblivion. I’ve knowingly touted a service which I knew had no lasting power in this world of tech start-ups. I’ve been thoroughly tempted by the snake of the Internet garden of knowledge and taken a bite out of the Web 2.0 apple.

When tech observer and PR visionary Steve Rubel wrote an article back last fall titled “The Web 2.0 is Skunk Drunk on Its Own Kool-Aid“, I doubt he knew how much of an impact it would have on tech culture. How much of a lasting shock wave it would cast through the world of the new tech evangelism movement. In fact, the article had so much of an influence that there is now a T-Shirt to accompany the articles premise.

The “Web 2.Oh Yeah!” T-Shirt is a perfect addition to your Web 2.0 loving uniform. Add it to your closet with the rest of your start-up schwag t-shirts, pins and stickers. If you’re one of those people who jumps on every chance they get to be part of the early adopter team of a new service, this is the shirt for you.

Mule Design offers their “Web 2.Oh Yeah!” T-Shirt for $20 from their online store in Men’s L-XL sizes, as well as Women’s medium sized. Either this t-shirt is really popular so far or they just don’t have a great selection of sizes available yet. Either way this is definitly going to be joining the confines of my wardrobe.

Make your 360 quieter, cooler, four times the size
The Xbox 360 — for all the joys it brings from its glowing green eye — is a hot and noisy beast. The Lian-Li PC-XB01 case mod (due for release in August) tries to quiet and cool down the cyclops with a single 120mm fan, optional water cooling and thick, sound-proofing slabs of foam to shut up the damn disc drive. There’s a certain hilarity in modders feeling like they need to go to these extremes to correct innate 360 design flaws, but really… the PC-XB01 is four times the size of an Xbox 360. If you want to go to that big to own a quieter, cooler next-gen console that is less prone to breaking down, buy a PS3. Oh no he didn’t! PC-XB01 [Lian Li via Hack A Day]…

Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye in LEGO

Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye in LEGO
Architecture student Matija Grguric’s brilliant recreation of Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye is an obvious candidate for LEGO when you think about it. Le Corbusier’s square-edged design of the concrete home — completed in 1929, if you can believe it — lends itself perfectly to blocks, being modular itself. This is the first I’ve heard of Le Corbusier and “International Style”. I can imagine it was a fairly mind-blowing architectural notion at the time, even if the house looks like an office park on stilts today. Project Page [MOCPages.com via Bros. Brick]…

Innovelis releases BudFits

Innovelis releases BudFits

Chances are the iPod (and now possibly iPhone) would be pretty popular devices to bring along with you while you engage in a form of vigorous exercise (swimming doesn’t count unless you’re rocking to a waterproof case and earphones), but that can result in the earbuds falling out. A minor irritant, but still irritating nonetheless. The BudFits from Innovelis solves this problem as described.

Constructed of soft, flexible rubber, BudFits snap onto Apple earbuds and then wrap over the top of the ear. In doing so, they ensure iPod and iPhone earbuds will not fall out and also maximize user comfort by eliminating the need to wedge earbuds into the ear canal to keep the earbuds in place. BudFits quickly snap onto earbuds to provide extra support and comfort, yet they can be easily removed for times when extra support and comfort is not necessary.

BudFits are compatible with all iPod and iPhone earbuds made by Apple, and prices hover between the affordable $8.99 to $9.99 range.

3D Drawing Pad Makes Your Doodles Really Pop

3D Drawing Pad Makes Your Doodles Really Pop

3D animation is so under utilized. For such a popular spectacle, you’d figure that companies would be jumping out of their seats to create 3D content. Is it a cost issue? Most likely. But man, when it’s done right 3D animation is so awesome. Not to mention you have an excuse to wear those awesome blue and red glasses.

As impossibly cool as it might sound, there is a gadget that actually allows us to create our own 3D artwork. The 3D Drawing Pad comes equipped with 50 specially gridded sheets of awesome 3D paper. They even provide you with a black pencil to make you doodles really pop off of the paper. It’s everything you need to create your own 3D drawings.

Usually, to create 3D animation, you need a set of blue and red pencils to outline your artwork. The 3D Drawing Pad’s special grid background makes the multi-writing utensil non-existent. One black pencil and a pair of 3D specs is enough to produce some 3D drawings to show-off to anyone bored enough to look.

But wait, there’s more! All of this for the low, low price of $2.95? What’s the catch?! Ok, enough with the infomercial shenanigans. But for real, the 3D Drawing Pad is pretty cool for the avid doodler, and a whole hell of a lot cheaper than producing professional quality 3D work. So why not give it a try for three bucks?
