Our Mobile Life research reveals that nearly 40 per cent of people download and listen to music on their mobiles rising to well over half of young people.” The feature loaded W950i allows Sony-Erickson and Walkman to tap into this profitable market.

Batman is part of DC Comics trinity. Alongside Superman and Wonder Woman, Batman defines many aspects of DC’s comic universe. TT Games LEGO Batman will be big. Its style is based off of Batman: The Animate Series. The game draws from the DC comic book universe’s rich history. The game takes place in Gotham City and features all of the LEGO Batman construction sets. Plot details are sketchy at the moment. Arkham Asylum residents escape plaguing the city and its up to Batman and Robin to return to the asylum. Joker’s girlfriend, Harley Quinn, will play a big role in the story line. She began as an Arkham psychologist who was assigned to treat the Joker. Unfortunately she was not up to the task of rehabilitating the Crown Prince of Crime. Instead, Harley fell under his control becoming mentally insane. Out of all his foes, Batman has the most sympathy for Harley Quinn whom he views as one of the Joker’s victims.

Not only do you control the Dark Knight and all of his gadgets (including ones which you build with LEGO) but you get to see how the other half lives. You can play such Batman foes as The Joker, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, the Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc and the Penguin and many more. Each character is unique and possesses the powers or abilities that made them infamous. Each character has several costumes that can be unlocked and built within the game. The game includes a Villain Mode that allows you to match wits and fists with the Dark Knight. LEGO Batman offers 36 levels - 18 heroic and 18 villainous. Each level that you defeat as Batman can then be replayed from the villain’s perspective.

Pricing information is not available for TT Games LEGO Batman. The game will be available for the PC, Nintendo DS, Xbox, 360, Nintendo Wii, PSP, Play Station 2 and Play Station 3. TT Games LEGO Batman should be as successful as its LEGO Star Wars series.

A power unit causes the suit to mirror the wearer’s movements. Designers call this a ‘voluntary control system.’ It captures and responds to the nerve signal before the physical limb actually moves. In most cases, HAL is a fraction of a second faster than its wearer. This system is used when the wearer wants to move individual exoskeleton elements.

HAL also includes a ‘robotic autonomous control system’ which causes HAL to execute human-styled movements. HAL learns from its user. The first time the wearer performs an action; Hal sensors memorize body positioning and posture. The next time the wearer performs the action, HAL remembers how he walks and the ‘robot autonomous control system’ moves the exoskeleton according to its stored movement pattern. HAL’s hybrid movement system allows it to perform many activities smoothly.

HAL can operate for almost 2 ½ hours before needing a recharge. The suit weighs 23kg. Cyberdyne’s exoskeleton works equally well indoors or outdoors. HAL has been used to help users climb mountains and can work in high elevation environments. HAL is currently available only to residents of Japan. A new office will be opened for sales in Eastern Europe. Cyberdyne’s HAL will begin mass production in October. The company plans to produce 400-500 suits per year. You can rent a HAL for $1000 a month. Even though it’s expensive, this would make an awesome gift for the gadget lover in your life. Buying a HAL suit can costs from $14,000 to $19,000 dollars.

Gadgets that use physical movement as an energy source is one of the more popular research areas today. Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology are developing clothing that can generate electric power using fiber-based nano technology. The electricity is generated by the friction between the shirt or jacket layers. This gadget is targeted at more active professionals - soldiers in the field or hikers in the wilderness. If the energy could be gathered in a small battery, several gadgets could be charged or powered by physical movement.

Zhong Zin Wang is a Regents professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering. He describes the gadget. “The fiber-based nano generator would be a simple and economical way to harvest energy from physical movement. If we can combine many of these fibers in double or triple layers in clothing, we could provide a flexible, foldable and wearable power source that, for example, would allow people to generate their own electrical current while walking.”

Dr. Wang’s Power Shirt is based on his 2007 research with the nanowire nanogenerator. The nanogenerators produce up to 20 millivolts and 800 nanoamperes. The Power Shirt is made from soft materials. It captures low-frequency mechanical energy. Kevlar fibers are combined with zinc oxide nanowires. Wang’s researchers use gold as an electrode. The precious metal also “deflects the nanowire tips.” After much further research, Dr. Wang’s team believes that one cubic meter of this power fabric can generate up to 80 milliwatts of power.

The Power Shirt has a long way to go before it will be released to the public. Developing a way to clean the shirt is the researcher’s next goal. Zinc oxide does not do well when subjected to water. Microsoft recently initiated a download program for Xbox 360 live called Xbox Originals. Similar to the Playstation franchise, Microsoft wanted to breathe new life into old games by making them available for their latest console. Unlike Nintendo’s recently released “New Super Mario Bros,” the Xbox originals have not been enhanced at all - they are the same games made available for $15 a piece. This initiative has been slow to gain momentum. Metal Arms: a Glitch in the System is the latest release in the series.

Metal Arms is a humorous first person shooter. You take the role of Glitch, a freedom fighter for valiant robot rebels. Your group is attempting to overthrow a group of evil militant robots. Like most first person shooters, the storyline could use a bit more imagination. Metal Arms storyline is one of the better ones within the genre. This game is violent. When you strike enemy robots you can do critical hits which can cause the robot to run around firing its gun with its head destroyed. Other shots will leave a torso and legs to wander a bit before falling. Despite Glitch being rather toonish looking, the game graphically portrays damage scored against your enemies.

Metal Arms is also fairly difficult to play. You can easily play a level 15-20 times before mastering enemy robot positions enough to create a solid battle plan. The enemy robot AI is well developed and the militant robot army will execute many surprising maneuvers during game play. They also tend to be dramatically more powerful than Glitch. You will rarely drop your foes in 1 to 2 shots. One of the benefits of the harder game play is that you will definitely have a feeling of accomplishment every time you clear a level.

Metal Arms provides Glitch with several power up weapons during game play. His left arm allows you to use miscellaneous gadgets and weapons. Glitch’s right arm can receive different gun plug ins. Your opponents have different weapon resistance that you will need to change to the appropriate gun to be effective. Metal Arms: A Glitch in the System is a good budget game to add to your game collection. It has good graphics and decent sound but lacks a musical soundtrack. It will provide you with hours of challenging game play.
